Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations prohibit organizations from making unsolicited marketing and collection calls to wireless telephone numbers. However, there is no national wireless telephone number “Do Not Call List”. This is where we can help you. Interactive Marketing Solutions (IMS) uses standard industry data, supplemented by our own primary research, to identify all wireless telephone numbers.
Our Wireless Block Identifier® file identifies area codes and exchanges or blocks of numbers assigned to wireless carriers active within the U.S. and Canada. Our Wireless Block Identifier® file is updated twice a month for download and covers over 750,000 blocks of numbers representing some 750 million wireless telephone numbers that are currently or will be assigned.
Our Wireless Block Identifier® file contains the following fields:
· NPS (area code)
· NXX (exchange)
· X (1st digit of the remaining number - the block of 1,000 numbers)
· Category (all listed categories are wireless telephone numbers)
· Future Use (reserved for future use)
In our Wireless Block Identifier® file, the first three fields contain a total of seven digits that identifies a block of 1,000 telephone numbers assigned to a wireless carrier. These seven digits, representing the area code, exchange, and first position of the wireless telephone number, must be compared to the first seven digits of the consumers telephone number. A match indicates that the wireless telephone number block has been assigned to a wireless carrier.
Our Wireless Block Identifier® file is created twice a month and posted to our website around the 10th and 24th and contains the latest wireless data available to-date. When the new file is posted, an email is sent to our subscribers notifying them the updated file is ready for download. Our Wireless Block Identifier® file can be delivered as a download from our website, picked up from our SFTP site or pushed daily, for a fee, to your local server.
Accurately identify wireless telephone numbers to ensure compliance with the (FCC) regulations using our Wireless Block Identifier® file and Ported Number file. Matching your calling file to both files will keep you from inadvertently calling wireless telephones. Our Ported Number files contain telephone numbers originally assigned to a consumer by one telephone carrier and then transferred to a different telephone carrier. To allow calling organizations to identify wireless telephone numbers and comply with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the industry makes the ports from Landline-to-Wireless carriers and Wireless-to-Landline carriers available for distribution. The FCC subscribes to both of our products to identify wireless telephone numbers.
